6. Chorweiler CIty Center

You will also find a shopping mall in the northern district of Chorweiler.

Although this mall offers a lot of wonderful things, shopping in Chorweiler may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you don’t feel comfortable around homeless people and addicts. Chorweiler is a district where these issues are prevalent, and you may encounter them while visiting this mall.

That being said, if you decide to visit City Center Chorweiler Mall, you’ll have the chance to discover several distinct stores. The mall has a clothing area where visitors can browse through a collection of wonderful clothing stores. You can complete your outfit by picking out the right shoes that go along with the clothes you have from the shoe stores available, and there are also bag shops too.

In addition to the clothing and accessories, the mall has a variety of charming gift shops that offer numerous gifts, souvenirs, and memorabilia to pick from.

City Center Chorweiler Mall Cologne is also known for being a perfect location if you’re seeking a reliable choice to buy household supplies as there are various stores that provide affordable products. If you’re looking to purchase electronic items, this mall is the ideal spot for you because you’ll have the chance to find a variety of excellent electronic stores.

Before leaving the mall, you can also buy your daily needs from the supermarket available.

In summary, City Center Chorweiler Mall Cologne is a great mall to visit if you’re looking for a variety of stores in one place. However, keep in mind that the area where the mall is located may not be ideal for everyone.

Best Shopping Streets in Cologne

While Cologne offers several fantastic shopping malls, it also boasts three famous shopping streets that are worth a visit.

These shopping streets are not only popular among locals but also attract tourists from all over the world. They offer a unique shopping experience with a wide range of stores, from big department stores to small local shops.

So, if you’re looking to explore the city’s vibrant shopping scene, be sure to add the following shopping streets to your list.

Schildergasse

Schildergasse is the number one shopping street in Cologne! Not only is it one of the most popular shopping destinations in the city, but it’s also one of the busiest shopping streets in all of Germany!

Here you can find everything from big department stores, to well-stocked clothing shops, and international retail chains such as H&M, Zara, and Bershka. Visitors to Cologne who prefer a more comfortable, sporty, and casual style will find what they’re looking for at Karstadt sports, Sportcheck, or the Adidas store.

And if you’re in need of some new shoes, Humanic and Kämpgen have got you covered with their ample selection of footwear on Schildergasse.

Adjacent to Neumarkt, Schildergasse is bordered by the Neumarkt Passage and the Neumarkt Galerie Mall. On the other end of Schildergasse, you can continue your shopping spree on Hohe Straße.

As Schildergasse is a designated pedestrian zone, you won’t be disturbed by traffic or car noise during your shopping trip. However, it’s still far from quiet, as loud music from the shelves of many stores accompanies customers as they stroll.

For a break during your shopping spree, I highly recommend stopping by the traditional Café Riese, famous for its domed-shaped waffles.

Schildergasse Cologne

Hohestraße

If you’re looking for a vibrant shopping street in Cologne, you will have to visit Hohestraße! This narrow, pedestrianized street is a must-visit for any shopping fan and ends at the Wallraf-Platz with a stunning view of the Cologne Cathedral.

From clothing and electronics to shoes and souvenirs, the Hohestraße offers a wide selection of stores that will cater to every shopper’s taste. Popular brands like H&M, New Yorker, and MediaMarkt have large branches here.

Children and adults alike will enjoy a visit to the Lego store, where colorful sculptures and a massive selection of building blocks will capture your imagination. And just a few steps away between Zara and WMF, you’ll find colorful plastic figurines climbing down the storefront. These little men have become part of the city’s landscape.

As you head towards the Wallraf-Platz, you’ll find souvenir shops offering Cologne-themed products, from bags and glasses to the famous Eau de Cologne.

But be warned, the street can get very busy before Christmas, and it may even have to close due to overcrowding. So, make sure to plan your visit accordingly and experience the excitement of shopping on the Hohestraße in Cologne!

Ehrenstraße

If you are looking for something unique or exclusive designer fashion, then a shopping tour on Ehrenstraße in Cologne is definitely worth your while. The motto of this trendy shopping street is “see and be seen,” and it attracts fashionable and stylish people.

Especially young people love Ehrenstraße in Cologne, as they can discover the latest trends while window shopping. The selection is diverse, and there is something for every budget: popular brands like H&M and Zara are here, as well as smaller designer shops offering extravagant fashion.

Ehrenstraße is also a popular spot for spotting celebrities from film and television.

Gastronomy establishments such as the popular Frittenwerk or the cult Café Waschsalon invite visitors to relax and watch the world go by. There is always something new to discover, whether it’s skaters zipping past on trendy city bikes or a plethora of stylish and trendy people.

For years, Ehrenstraße was considered a hidden gem compared to other shopping streets such as Schildergasse and Hohe Straße. It’s only in recent years that new and well-known stores have settled here, while some of the older, traditional stores have remained. This has created an exciting mix of small, old-fashioned shops and trendy in-shops.

Best Shopping Malls in Cologne – Final Thoughts

There are plenty of shopping options in Cologne for everyone’s taste and budget. From the bustling shopping streets of the city center to the large and modern malls, there is something for everyone.

While there are many great options, my personal favorite is the Rhein Center in Weiden, where I have spent countless hours shopping and exploring since my teenage years. However, I also appreciate the charm and character of the city’s shopping streets and the unique shopping experiences they offer.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Cologne has plenty to offer for your next shopping adventure.
